Red Pepper Software has an immediate opening for a Sales Development Representative (SDR). This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy the early stages of the sales process ' reaching out to new potential clients and engaging them in conversation about how Red Pepper might help them. Being an SDR is about hunting down and nurturing new relationships within large markets. It's also about seeing our services from the client's view and understanding the impact we can have for them.

This position requires persistence and a willingness to put in the work. We use the volume of our effort and outreach to find those companies we can help and who are ready to engage with our services. You will need to reach out to hundreds of potential clients every week to be successful. Red Pepper has processes and resources in place to supply the initial contacts. We will support and train you to be successful if you bring the right attitude and work ethic.

We are seeking candidates who like to tackle sales like solving a puzzle, and who are naturally energized by making new contacts and by talking with new people on the phone or zoom calls. Experience in software sales is helpful, but not essential. The ability to learn new software tools and understand software issues that potential clients will bring up is critical.

SDR Responsibilities

  • Fill an outreach funnel:
    • Participate in market research and selection
    • Reach out to new contacts daily (contacts will be provided)
  • Nurture your funnel contacts:
    • Follow-up with new contacts multiple times based on a sales cadence (both by email and phone)
    • Engage with contacts and start conversations (both by email and phone)
    • Understand your clients' Situation, Pain, and the potential Impact Red Pepper can have to help them
  • Set appointments for senior team members:
    • Prepare contacts to meet with senior sales team members and technology experts that will help diagnose the client's challenges and scope a solution
    • Provide notes to qualify your prospects
    • Schedule meetings directly for team members
  • Keep accurate records and metrics:
    • Take and keep accurate notes
    • Track your time on different funnel activities to help us track averages
    • Update metric spreadsheets and other tracking tools as required
    • Help improve and automate the sales process
    • Report on your sales metrics. Be confident regardless of the outcome and humble about accepting feedback and asking for help to improve
  • Attend team meetings and trainings:
    • Attend daily Sales Team Standup, and all team trainings (at least monthly)

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience in sales, and software sales in particular, is helpful
  • Confidence (and enjoying) reaching out to new people and starting conversations is essential
  • Excellent attention to detail on emails and recording notes is critical
  • The ability to navigate software systems and learn new software quickly is required. Previous experience with Pipedrive and Google Docs is preferred
